Looking For The Fire

A traveler at night in the old American West, might be hungry, yearning for companionship, scared, thinking “Safety in numbers.”.

The sight of a fire burning could be just that for the traveler.

A ship looking for land without correct compass, approaching through stormy seas, fog, night, knowing of the potential shoals, rocks protruding the water’s surface made indiscernible by such tumultuous nights, might receive a helping hand by the folk on the shore through the sight of burning fires directing them away from danger.

From moment to moment, second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour, night by night, day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year; We find ourselves looking for the fire.

We want to rekindle our life, our existence, our happiness, our soul. And so we bequeath experience, relationships, adventures, opportunities with the vision of that fire. We see fire where there isn’t any fire. Deliverance where there is but strife, drowning, suffocation awaiting us. A diminishing rather than an extension of self awaiting us.

Looking for the fire we place hope on the wildest, ridiculous and most absurd of circumstances. These investments we at times make while inebriated.

Perhaps awaken a day later with new commitments.

Having aligned ourselves with another life, a new friendship.

Looking for refueling, looking for the fire.

Thinking that we will shine again, yet again. Recycling. Recycled. But the same fate awaits. A player and played.

We see the potential for rekindling in another romance, another friend or a group, surroundings, a new job, but we know that the fire will be put out by that thing within which always manifests itself to derail this trip we are on. Again and again.

Perhaps some night you might look up to the heavens wondering if you are destined for this perpetual quest, searching for the fire and never to find the real fire.

Is the fire for many others and not for you?

Not knowing what the fire is can be a big problem.

It isn’t success, power, money, romance, sex, popularity, acceptation. You will not find the fire in Scholarship, social circles. You will not find it in “Normalcy”, in fact all the things espoused by societal critics are constructed out of an abnormalcy. Understand that Dualistically what is perceived as normal is so constructed out of a fear that the true condition innately will be uncovered, bared. And this is why a schooling stems from this fear, and so folk create measures, weighs which are fit for assessing the other individual.

The Psychologist thrives in this construct. A society born out of innate imperfection.

We are fodder for their light flame. A flame which the wind will softly extinguish.

Uncannily there is a fire which can never go out. And it is no coincidence that the priest would throw the offerings into a altar engulfed in flames.

They were commanded never, no never to allow the fire to go out.

A representation of God. Eternal. But also so much like our cycle in futility (I speak of the earthly fires, capable of going out without constant surveillance). IE God is an eternal Fire inextinguishable, but a earthly source of fire is in danger of being extinguished.

Our innate brokenness doth witness against us. Only God can sate our need. We lost His fire as recorded in that incident we needs be discredit. It is incumbent upon us due to our brokenness to cast all doubts upon that accusatory finger pointed at us as fallen creations to acknowledge our state, our predicament, our need. IE Why we are looking for the fire.

End of the year.

This is a time whereupon we might reflect and perhaps with a deep sense of longing question our ways, our practices, indulgences. Ask the question; Why do I perpetually find myself looking for reinvigoration? And we must have our gatherings, booze, pot, a congregating which belies our true pain, our true condition. Casting a flagrant statement; “leave me alone for I am fine.” after all can you not see how happy I am???????? Huh, huh?????

Thank you for your kind visit. I hope that this New Year……no, this next hour brings to you God, His fire to burn in your heart, consuming the unbelieving you, the liar, the false shelter which denies your pain, your condition of need.

I pray these things for you in the blessed name of the one who withstood the earthly frame by His obedience, went through the fire, for He was the Perfect offering, the propitiation for all of us (that offering which met God’s strictest compliance). Jesus Christ, the ever obedient Son of God. Affording us all, if we receive it, a Eternal Sonship, His eternal Fire within.
