It is a hard taskmaster. It sends us out into a bitter cold existence. Don’t allow it to stifle you. It will stifle love, the will to be kind and forgiving. The ability to live with your mistakes. Perfection stifles the room of life. It cramps style. A life of anal retentiveness.
It is ironic how we worship it yet it leads us to poor health. Your movements become cramped by the presence of perfection. Regrets pile up by the mile.
Many with pride will say, utilizing that deceptive merit badge of perfection; “You know me, I’m a perfectionist.” Little knowing that their existence is circumscribed by the intolerant idol, Perfection.
Most important. Make no mistake for; “The quest for perfection is born out of Imperfection”
Yes, this is true. Most true. It is that flaw within. The incompleteness which haunts us that has sent us out on a quest to play our trumpet heralding our meager presence. Accomplishments which when we eventually face Almighty God will not speak on our behalf.
The irony then is that those accomplishments will dualistically summon forth for God Our Lack; His Life.
A lack which He has taken care of in preserving for us a seat at His Table.
Reserved and Preserved with the Blood of His so Perfect Son.
Relax, let it all hang out. You are Forgiven. You are Loved. You don’t need to come bearing gifts. The gift instead, is given to you before you come to the Party. Accept it, drop those shoulders which carry that impossible burden. Hard on you but it Rests Easy upon His shoulder.
I love you, dear Sister and Brother. I pray you will stop worshipping that devil, Perfection, bury him at the foot of the Cross.
