Forebodings….

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

1st John 4:18 King James Version

Because fear hath torment

Fear fills (produces, overflows within) the breast (the heart, emotions) with forebodings.

Invokes much anxiety, and anxiety is desirous of coloring the possibilities, fleshing them out. Fleshing them out with the horror of its (the Void) contents.

By “perfect love” is not meant, romantic love, romantic love is the same as described above, lyrical, looking for context, thus dramatic, subject to needful provocations and tests. Romantic love is competitive; show me yours and I’ll compete to show you mine.

There is an old movie which contains a scene that goes like this; Guy asks girl, how much do you love me? The girl replies with something cute, nice and acceptable. She then asks him, how much does he love her. He replies; “With all the love that is in the whole world.”

She responds with a downcast countenance, pouting. He is disturbed to see her reaction. He quickly asks of her; “Why….what’s wrong?”

She says; “Then there won’t be any love left for anyone else in the world.”

Fear hath torment. It won’t leave you alone. It (fear) wants to own you. To fill your hands. Keep you distracted. Dangling on the strings of “Fear Puppeteer”.

Remember, I’ve told you before; Fear is the Void, or the trauma inherited from the Fall. It was fully impacted upon Adam and Eve at the exit to the Garden of Eden, the consequences of what they had done. The Cherubims, the Flaming Sword going to and fro, blocking the way.

Fear was birthed right at this occurrence and we inherited it from them (Adam, Eve) in the form of the attachment, consciousness, now but intuited, invoked at every instance of external negative occurrences. Facing the Unknown. Losing the God Consciousness possessed before the Fall.

No colorful array of Self Help books and videos proffered as they made their exit.

This is why we fear the Unknown. We learned it, as intuited by, through this event, The Fall.

The innate stamp, the source for the First Anxiety. Proof of our flaw, Spirit bereft. This is no true Life, we possess.

Fear hath torments, forebodings of our final destination; Oblivion, should we not haste to be availed of His Love.

It is said; “Give your life to God”.

You don’t have a life, the Void within you can’t afford you one. Go, instead and get His Life.

You give up your life.

Perfect Love casteth out fear. Fear is annulled like a bad marriage. His Perfect Love in you, should, according to your Spiritual receptive growth, cast out fear.

If you have trusted in Christ and are assaulted by anxiety, you have not been made perfect by His Love. The full benefit, value, worth of His Perfect Love has been restrained, shackled, impeded by the Void, your association with your Adamic inheritance.

This is not me (making this statement merely) thumbing my nose at you…..No! Wasted effort, no, but trying to impress upon you, you have not done your job.

I but want to impress upon you that you need to go over it. Review; What is it, in Faith that which you have been unable to implement. Go back, Review. Make it real for yourself. Many things have kept you restrained, comfortable, preference filled. The target for your faith needs to be restocked, that the filling of the Spirit can afford you deliverance.

The Power to overcome. The Spirit of Adoption, whereby we cry “Abba Father”.

“Daddy.”

  1. It is True as you shared Mike, without God’s Love we have fleshy fear and what do we fear when we are not Perfected in Love, as we can see in the Scripture you shared, it’s torment but of what, Hell is eternal torment because it is punishment for the sins we have committed, when we read the verse before (see below) we see that when we are Perfected in Love like Paul was and others have been in the Church, we are like God in this World, Christ indwells us, and so our Love is Perfect and Love does not sin, so there is no fear of torment.

1John 4:16-17 And we have known and believed the Love that God hath to us. God is Love and he that dwelleth in Love dwelleth in God and God in him. Herein is our Love made Perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is so are we in this world.

As you shared Mike we can’t have God’s Love in the Carnal flesh, we must put our flesh to death by The Spirit (Romans 8) and as we choose to walk in the Fruit of The Spirit, He empowers us so we can, good and evil cannot co – exist so as we come close to God, Satan flees and we no longer have fleshy fear of punishment.

What Scriptures Mike if you don’t mind sharing them, have had a profound effect on you ? the ones below God gave me during my Storm and they have comforted me greatly and still do.

Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression you will not be burned up the flames will not consume you. For I AM The LORD your GOD, The HOLY ONE of Israel, your SAVIOUR.”

Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you says the LORD, thoughts of Peace and not of evil, to give you a Future and a Hope.

Lamentations 3: 33 For God doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the Children of Men.

    Christian Love – Anne.

    1. Thank you Anne for this most excellent reflection on the post. And thanks for the sharing of Scripture text which most touched your heart. Great and impactful choices. I love them. I am a bit pressed for time as am here with someone I promised to teach how to make “Chicken Cacciatore”. Will get back to you with a list of Scripture which have been the most influential in my life. In the mean time, the post on “You haven’t seen anything until God breaks you” has perhaps the most influential depiction of a lesson best learned by me, in a Spiritual way. Bye for now
